Your questions,
answered.
What are your qualifications?
We’ve been teaching since 2017, and have become well-respected in the community for our chosson-kallah classes and our 1Plus1 series for married couples. In addition to studying from veteran pre-marriage counselors, rabbonim, mechanchos, and therapists, we’ve done in-person training with pelvic-floor specialists, mental health professionals, and therapists who specialize in intimacy. Tzippy was a featured speaker at the 2023 Nefesh Conference, and has presented lectures at various seminaries including Elyon Seminary and Ma’ayunis.
Does the 1Plus1 series have haskamos?
Everything we teach — whether from the angle of hashkafah, psychology, or physiology — has been reviewed by our Rav, Rav Binyomin Breuer shlita.
How is 1Plus1 different from chosson/kallah classes?
Great question! 1Plus1 is an entirely different experience because it’s a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on intimacy for couples — not just one spouse. We teach, in depth, what the Torah says about intimacy in all its facets: physical, spiritual, emotional, and practical. It’s not a hilchos niddah course; as a matter of fact, those halachos aren’t covered at all.
How explicit is the material?
Vague language too often leads to vague understanding. Since the sensitive nature of the course makes it highly prone to misconceptions, the decision was made to use very explicit terminology so that there would be no room for mistakes or lack of clarity. Every concept is fully explained from a Torah-sourced angle, and from the physiological angle as well.
Is the course only for couples who’ve been married for a while, or is it for newlyweds, too?
It’s a comprehensive course that provides a wide perspective on marital intimacy from every angle, starting with one piece of the mosaic and then adding to it until the entire picture is complete. Newlyweds often find that the course fills in missing pieces for them, while older couples view it as a medium for enhancing and revitalizing their marriage.
Beyond that, the same information is absorbed and internalized differently at different stages of life, so ideas you’ve heard as a young couple sound very different ten, twenty, or thirty years down the line.
How long do we have access to the classes for?
The classes are released once a week for five weeks, alternating between the classes for men and women. After you’ve received access to all the classes, you’ll be able to watch and review for an additional six months.
Do I have to watch the classes in order?
Yes, because each class builds on the previous one. You have a full week to finish listening before your next class loads.
How long is each class?
The classes are divided into modules of 1.5-2 hours. Each class within the module is approximately 20 minutes long.
Is there a way to ask questions or get clarification if I need it?
Yes! If after you’ve finished watching all the modules you still feel you have questions or issues you’d like to discuss, you can email us and book a one-on-one Zoom session.
Since the course is for couples, can I watch all the classes — including the ones meant for my spouse?
Included in the terms of agreement is that men and women only watch the classes meant for them. Adhering to high standards of discretion and tznius is what allows us to be as open as we are. Since the course material is by definition both sensitive and explicit, it would be inappropriate for the speaker and the listener to be from opposite genders.
What if I start the course and then decide that it isn’t for me?
We’re sorry, but there are no refunds for the online course.
We’re considering couples therapy. Will this course help us?
1Plus1 is step 1 before therapy, but it’s not a replacement for it. Often therapists recommend that couples take the course before therapy so that they have a solid foundation before they start to work on their marriage. Other couples have taken the course while continuing their therapy sessions, so that they process the information together with their therapist and receive guidance when they need it.
Will this series help me if I or my spouse are recovering from trauma?
If either you or your spouse are recovering from or experiencing any sort of trauma, addiction, or mental illness, it’s imperative that you consult with your therapist before taking this course.
I want to take the series, but I’m afraid my kids will figure out how to access it.
Once you sign up, you receive a password-protected portal, so no one can access your classes except for you.
